Youskevltch, New York, NY PRESCHER. Lois Brooks Prescher, 93, wife of the late Dr. Adolph Prescher, died Saturday, at South-Ington Care. Born In South! no ton April 27, 1904 daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Camp Brooks, she had been a lifelong Southing-ton resident. Lois was a schoolteacher at the Plantsville School for many years.

She was an active, lifelong member of the Plantsville Congregational Church where she served her church in many capacities. She was a member of the Southington Historical Society, Southington Women's Club, Southington Grange, Plantsville Congregational Church Afternoon Guild, a Red Cross Bloodmobile Canteen Unit Voluteer and a former Trustee of South End Burying Ground. Lois is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and N. Arthur Johnson of Harwin-ton; a brother, Leslie C. Brooks of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Rhoda Swain. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, (May 23) 7 p.m.. at the Plantsville Congregational Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in South End Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Kiefer Lois B. Prescher Harttora ana formerly of Manchester, wife of the late George Glode, died Saturday (May 17, 1997) at Rockville General Hospital. Mrs. Glode was born Nov. 11, 1914 In Hartford, daughter of the late Gustav and Caroline (Olson) Anderson, and had lived In Manchester for many years before moving to East Hartford more than 30 years ago.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Supervisor with the Hartman Co. Mrs. Glode is survived by two daughters, Edith Slater of Vernon, and Carol Jones of Broad Brook; five grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20. 11 a.m., at the Holmes Funeral Home.

(Johnson) Hanson, 88, of Carll Road, Middle-town, wife of Dr. Howard A. Hanson, died May 17 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gustaf and Antonia (Rol-clk) Johnson, and had lived in Middletown for 67 years. Mrs.

Hanson was a graduate of Pratt Institute and taught art in Middle-town public schools. She married her husband, July 1, 1937. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Erik A. Hanson of Pelham Manor, NY; a daughter, Kristina Smith of Reading, PA; a sister, Elenore Howe of Kennebunkport, ME: four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 24, 12 p.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, Middletown, with the Rev.

Richard N. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be In Pine Grove Cemetery, Middle-town, at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Doolit-tle Funeral Service, 14 Old Church Middletown, Is In charge of arrangements. KAMERER. Roler J. Kamerer, 53, of Summer Hill South Windsor, died Saturday (May 17, 1997), at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct.

10, 1943 in Hartford, but lived and spent his early years In East Hartford, where he graduated High School in 1962. After marriage, he moved to Bolton where he enjoyed his favorite pastime of fishing and boating alongside his home on the lake. Roger spent many years employed as a machine maintenance associate with Pratt Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, and most recently was a grounds-keeper with the Grassmere Country Club of Enfield. He also en-loyed a 30 year membership with the Brotherhood of Elks, Lodge No. 2063, East Hartford.

Roger leaves his father, Wilford J. Kamerer of South Windsor; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Margo Kamerer of Enfield; his former wife, Katherine Kamerer of South Windsor and a loving niece and nephew, Sharon Gill and William D. Kamerer of Enfield. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 21, at 12 p.m., at the Samsel Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland South Windsor. Burial will be In Wappfng Cemetery, South Windsor.

His family will receive friends, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be an Elks Service Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. KUCZ. Blanche (Jankowskl) Kucz, 79, of Linden Place, Rockville, died May 17, 1997 at her home.

She was the wife of the late Edwin Kucz. She was born In Meriden, and resided In Rockville for the past 45 years. Mrs. Kucz was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Rockville, and a member of the Rosary Society.

She is survived by a son, Michael Kucz; and two daughters, Catherine Martin and Margaret Evans; a brother, Alphonse Jankowskl; and two sisters, Irene Jankowskl and Barbara Jankowskl; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 21, 9 a.m., from Whlte-Glbson-Small Funeral Home, 65 Elm Rockville, with a Mass of Christian Burial. 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Rockville. Elsie (Stern) Marx, of Vandervere Road, West Hartford, widow of Arthur Marx, died Sunday (May 18, 1997). She was a founding member of the Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh. She and her late husband were co-owners of the Yankee Variety Store In Wethersfleld. She Is survived by a daughter-in-law, Henny Marx of West Hartford; a grandson. Leonard Marx and his wife, Melissa of West Hartford; a granddaughter, Janet O'Connor and her husband, John of West Hartford; four great- Srandchlldren, Jessica Marx, oshua O'Connor.

Passcantell, died Sunday (May 18, 1998), at her home In Manchester. She died after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Rita was born In Hartford and lived In Manchester for most of her life. She was the beloved and devoted mother and grandmother of Thomas and his wife, Sandy Passcantell of Manchester, Dana Monaco of Bolton and Diane McCall of Wllllmantic and her grandchildren, Scott McCall of Windham and Nicholas and Jessica Passcantell of Manchester. She Is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Clifford A.

Bombard, Doris A. Henry, Donald S. Bombard and Joan E. Charbon-neau, all of Florida. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Hassett.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tlerney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, with burial In St.

Hartford, widower of the late Carmela (Pontillo) Fornino, died Friday (May 16, 1997) at Hartford Hospital, peacefully with his loving children by his side. Mr.

Fornino was born in Stratford, Jan. 13, 1910, son of the late John and Archangela (DeLlsa) Fornino, and came to Hartford with his family at a very young age. As a little boy, he and his family returned to his parents' native village, Sassano, Italy, where he remained for several years. The family then returned to Hartford, where Mr. Fornino resided ever since.

He attended the former Brown School in Hartford. He and Mrs. Fornino were married, Nov. 16, 1931, at St. Anthony's Church in Hartford.

She passed away March 28, 1994. Mr. Fornino owned Paramount Trucking Co. of East Hartford for over 45 years, and developed a reputation over the years as a man who was loved by all, someone who was always there to help someone who was down and He was well known for his kindness and generosity, and often created jobs for individuals in need. He was also the owner of Fornino Realty Co.

of East Hartford. Mr. Fornino was a parishioner of St. Luke's Church in Hartford. He Is survived by his three beloved children.

Archangel "Angela" DeLillo and her husband, Rlccardo of Hartford; his son, John Fornino and his wife, Anna Maria of Newlngton; and his daughter, Theresa Ryan and her husband, John of Newlngton; three loving grandchildren, Joseph R. DeLillo of Hartford, Michael DeLillo and his wife, Chastity of South Windsor, and Carmel Ann (DeLillo) Sinopoll and her husband, Vincent of Rocky Hill; four adored great-grandchildren, Ashley DeLillo of South Windsor, Luke and Brianna Slnqpoli of Rocky Hill, and Joseph DeLillo, Jr. of Hartford; and two step-grandsons, John Ryan Jr. and Matthew Ryan. He is also survived by four sisters, Mary Meuccl of Hartford, and Rose Hoerig, Ann Bramley and Fay Levitan, all of West Hartford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Fer-rier of West Hartford. Joseph Fornino was a man of unbounded kindness, compassion and generosity, a man of great character, infinite loyalty and unending love, to whom family was all things. "We shall not see his like again." The family wishes to extend Its deepest thanks to Dr. James Gallagher and the nurses In the Bliss Building 7th Floor Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness. 1997), at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in West Hartford, she had lived In East Hartford for over 70 years. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she worked In the Accounting Department for the Travelers Insurance Company for 43 years. She was a member of: The American Legion Post No. 77 of East Hartford for over 60 years; the Patriotic Commission of East Hartford for over 40 years, where she was active In the Fourth of July Celebrations as well as Memorial Day Parade activities; the East Hartford Cemetery Commission; and a member of the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, and served on the Board of Trustees; and she also taught ceramics classes for many years at her home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by many cousins, and a godson, Sayre Whltford, of East Hartford and many others who were "special" to her including her beloved kitty Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, 110 Ellington East Hartford. GRAVES. Russell T. Graves, 82. husband of Gladys "Scottle'' Graves, of West Suff ield, died Saturday (May 17, 1997). Born In Northampton, MA, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor's degree In Economics.

He had lived In Suf-f ield for the last 52 years. He was a payroll supervisor and personnel director for Hatheway Steane Corp. for over 30 years, retiring In 1971. For many years he was Involved in Suff ield politics, the Boy Scouts of America, and was a member of West Suff Ield Congregational Church. He was a past Fire Commissioner of Suff Ield and was recently active In the Copper Hill United Methodist Church of East Granby Mr.

Graves was very active in the Apollo Lodge No. 59 A.F. A.M., Suffield, where he was a past master. He had a lifelong love of music and was an organist of Apollo Lodge. He was also a member of the Hl-Lo Drum Corps, had played the UMASS Carillon during his college years and was a member and past treasurer of the AARP of Suffield.

Besides his wife, Scottle, he leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott T. and Virginia L. Graves of West Suffield and David F. and Dayl M. Graves of Huddleston, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan G.

and Joseph V. Persio of Cheshire; a sister, Carol G. Tuit of Northampton. MA; and seven beloved Grandchildren. Kimberly, and Scott Graves, Alex and Spencer Graves, and Joanna, Jonathan and Jennifer Persio.

He was predeceased by a son Russell T. Graves, a brother, Myron Graves; and his twin sister. Christina Cordes. Funeral service will be Wednesday morning, at a time to be announced, at the Nicholson Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Suffield. Burial will be In Woodlawn Cemetery.

Penelope Ann Czajka, 29. of Pequot Court, Cromwell, died Friday (May 16, 1997) at her home after a long illness. She was born in Middletown, daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth (Turner) Czajka of Cromwell. Besides her parents, she Is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Michelle Czajka of Cromwell-maternal grandmother, Eleanor Collins of Middletown and a nephew, Patrick Czajka. DEVANNEY. Lula (Francis) Devanney, 99, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Hartford, widow of Edward R. Devanney, died (May 4, 1997). Born In Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles and Lula (Sprinkle) Francis, she lived most of her life In Hartford. She Is survived by several nieces and nephews.

DUBAY. Reeanne Y. (Manseau) Dubay, 67, of Cliffslde Drive, Manchester, wife of Eugene R. Dubay, and widow of Joseph A. Manseau, died peacefully Saturday (May 17, 1997) at her home with her family at her side.

Born in Quebec, Canada, May 12. 1930, she had been a resident of Manchester and the surrounding area since 1952. For the past 23 years, she had owned and operated Glazier's Corset and Uniform Shop on Main Street in Manchester. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Mullen and her husband, Donald Jr. of Bolton, Laureen Mainville and her husband, Thomas of Bolton; three sons, Daniel J.

Manseau, US Army (Ret.) and his wife, Catherine of Valrlco, FL, Mitchell A. Manseau of Tampa, FL. and Guy C. Manseau and his wife, Charlene of East Windsor; ten grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; three step-daughters, Vallerle A. Dubay of Silver Lake, Ml, Sharon R.

Sharon. Gregory M. Even and his wife Kathryn, all of Wethersfleld, Bryan J. Even and his wife, Sandra of Virginia. Christopher R.

Even and his wife, Karen of Massachusetts, Pamela M. Even and her husband, Michael Dletter, of Newlngton; seven loving grandchildren Andrew, Allen and Patrick, Ashley and Bryan, Jack and Emily; a brother, Thomas McMahon of Wethersfleld, several nieces and nephews. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Even graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy In West Hartford, and had held her real estate licence for the past 25 years.

Joan was a communicant of the Church of the Incarnation of Wethersfleld; she was a member of the Greater Hartford Board of Realtors; the Connecticut Association of Realtors; the National Association of Realtors; a past president of the Women's Council of Realtors; and the President's Club, Dollar Dry Dock Real Estate. Box 9Xi8, Wethersfleld, CT OtIOV QUINN. Helen (O'Callaghan) Quinn, 80, of Newlngton, wife of the late James F. Quinn, died Saturday (May 17, 1997), at home. Born in New Haven, she had lived in Newlngton most of her life. Mrs.

Qulnn was an alumna of Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, and also the University of Connecticut, School of Social Work. She began her career as a young social worker In the Division of Public Assistance for the State of Connecticut. While her children were young, she substituted as a teacher in area schools. Mrs. Quinn was Program Supervisor for the Connecticut State Welfare Department and in 1972 was appointed Director of Social Services for the City of East Hartford, where she worked until retiring In 1982.

She was a communicant of The Church of the Holy Spirit, Newlngton. Mrs. Quinn Is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, and a daughter and son-in-law, James F. Quinn, Jr. of New York City, Sally Q.

and Michael Karnasiewicz of Southbury, Dennis C. and Debra Qulnn of Newlngton. and John M. and Carol Quinn of Cromwell; a sister, Mrs. Richard Latimer of Sandwich, MA; and five grandchildren, James F.

She died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a for-. mer Soloist of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and was the widow of the legendary premier danceur noble Igor Youskevltch. Born in Urblno. Italy, to aristocratic RussianItalian parents, she was raised In Imperial Russia and had ties to the court of Tsar Nicholas II, escaping after the Russian revolution, sne started ballet In Rome, Italy, and went on to pursue an International, professional career.

Mrs. Youskevltch worked with many leading choreographers including: Fokine. Nilnska. Masslne, Blanchlne, Ashton, Kurt Jooss, Agnes de Mllle; and was partnered by many leading male dancers of the day including: Frederic Franklin, Leon Wolzl-kovsky, George Zoritch, Vallntln Froman, Thomas Armour and also her husband, Igor, with whom she performed Fokine's: "Le Spectre de la In concert all over Europe. Beginning her career with the Rome Opera Ballet, she performed with Julia Sedova and continued In Paris with another former Marlnsky ballerina, Olga Preobraenska, and Joined the Grand Ballet de Ida Rubinstein, later the Ballet Leon Woizikovsky and many other European Companies, until she came to America as a soloist with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo In 1938, and settled in New York City.

Her extensive teaching career started after World War II, two Broadway shows, and the birth of her daughter, Maria. For over 50 years she taught at all the maor ballet schools in New York City' including: The American Ballet Theatre and The Ballet Russe schools. She co-directed the Igor Youskevltch School of Ballet for 18a years. She was still teaching at the Broadway Dance Center up until two months ago. She Is survived by her only child, Maria, the rehearsal assistant and a teacher at the Hartford Ballet.

1, 1940, he volunteered forV service and was shipped with the 208th National Guard Coast Artillery Regiment to Camp Edwards on Cape Cod. In February 1942, his regiment was shipped to Austra- lia. By this time, he was a staff sergeant. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant In 1943 and saw active duty In New Guinea, for which-his battalion was awarded the Dis tlngulshed Unit Citation. A special unit of his batallion, of which Wltkower was commanding was attached to the 11th Airborne-Division In the assault on Manila in 1944.

His unit was again award-' ed another Presidential Unit Citation. He returned to civilian life at 1 the end of 1944. In 1951, he organized the Wltkower Press, lnc.A and In 1960, with the sale of Wit kowers Bookstore, he devoted all I his time to the publishing business. He was a founding member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, and a member of the Board; of Trustees for 18 years. He was also a founding member of Cliff-side Country Club, now known as Tower Ridge, of Slmsbury, a past" president and a member of the Board of Trustees for 22 years.

He attended the Capitol-Community. Technical College since 1980, arid was the first senior citizen ber of the Student Senate. He was treasurer of the Senior Renewal Club, and was a Board member of the Foundation of the Community Technical College. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children. Gall Antonoff and her hus.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 2, Bristol. He had served as Interim pastor of First Baptist Church in Hartford; as assistant pastor of St.

James Baptist Church. New Britain; and pastor of North Haven Community Baptist Church- and was organist for the Buds Choir at Beulah AME Zlon Church, Forestville. Rev. 1, 1900 in Lithuania and grew up In Portchester, NY. She and her husband, Aaron, were proprietors of Dltman's Ladies Specialty Shop in Mamaroneck, NY for 46 years. There, they were very active In town activities and helped formed the Westcheser Jewish Center. The Dltman's moved to West Hartford In 1973 where Bernice continued her philanthropic activities. Bernice was beloved by all who knew her.

She Is survived by a daughter, Devida Botwlck and her husband, Barry, of West Hartford; a granddaughter, Fern Botwlck; grandson. Jay Botwlck and his wife. Cindy; a great-grandson, Alexander otwick; and a sister-in-law, Roz Gordon. She is also survived by Several nieces and nephews including Lois Stogel and June Nes-bit. Bernice was predeceased by a brother, Phil Gordon; and sisters, Sally Greene and Ann Miller.
