"Buzz" Stanley Boniewski, 79, of Higby Middletown, died Sunday, (January 16, 2000) at the Middlesex Hospital He was born in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Andrew and Julia (Tomaszewski) Boniewski. He had moved as a child with his family to the farm on Higby Rd in Middletown, and did dairy farming for 66 years. He had been employed at New Departure Co. and after retirement, he became a beef and hay farmer again. He was a member of the Westfield Vol.

Fire the New Departure Fish and Game Club, and the Westfield Gun Club. He leaves a brother, Adam Boniewski of Renton, WA: two sisters, Sophie Chiaravallo of Middletown, and Helen Rockwell of Keene, NH; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Middletown, with a 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in St.

Mary Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Westfield Fire East Street, Middletown, CT, 06457. CELENTANO, Matilda Matilda "Tillie" Celentano, widow of Adolphe E.

Celentano, died Saturday (January 15, 2000) at Jefferson House in Newington, her home forthe last several years. Born in Scotland and raised in Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Rose Anne (McAteer) Marron, she lived most of her life in Wethers-field and at Point O'Woods, South Lyme. She had been an active volunteer and past president of the Corpus Christi Women's Club and the Point O'Woods Women's Club and had served on the Hartford Council of Catholic Women and the St. Agnes Guild for manyyears. She is survived by her children, Frederick and Mary Ellen Celentano of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Richard and Patricia Provost of Wethers-field, and Peterand Kathleen Aldridge of Wethersfield; grandchildren, Alan and John Celentano, Jennifer, Mark and Matthew Provost, and Daniel Aldridge; and great grandchild, Thomas Celentano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. There are no calling hours. COLEMAN, Harry E. Harry E. Coleman, 81, husband of Gladys (Bryant) Coleman died Friday, (January 14, 2000) at New Britain Gen eral Hospital. Harry was born in Hartford and lived in New Britain 26 years before moving to Plainville 55 years ago. Before his retirement 19 years ago, he was employed at the Emhart Corp.

as a purchasing agent. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Britain. Besides his wife, Harry leaves two sons, Harry A. Coleman and his wife, Sandra, of Sun City West, AZ, and Edward B.

Coleman and his wife, Carol, of Albuquerque, NM; and six grandchildren, Patrick, Jason, Leslie, Joshua, Erik, and Cory. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 147 West Main New Britain. Everyone is asked to meet at the church.

CYR, Brian "Pitt" Brian "Pitt" Cyr, 43, of Colchester and formerly of Southbridge, MA died Friday January 14, 2000) in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans after being involved in a motor vehicle accident Friday evening. He leaves four brothers, Theo Cyr and David Cyr of East Hartford, Conrad "Chuck" Cyr of Grosvenordale, and Michael Cyr of Southbridge, MA; three sisters, Rin-ette Lavoie of New Hartford, Esther La-voie of S. Windsor, and Linda Cyr of Southbridge, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Van Bur-en, ME, son the late Amedee and Marie M. (Desjardin) Cyr, and lived most of his life in Southbridge before moving to Vermont about seven years ago. She was born in Quincy, MA. She leaves three daughters. Sheila G. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Peterand Antoinette (Stavola) DeLisa and had lived in Wethersfield for 26 years. Prior to his retirement. Jack worked for Advo Systems for several years and for Heinz Ketchup. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.

II, a communicant of St. Augustine Church, and a member of Old Elm Senior Citizens of Wethersfield. He is survived by a sister, Mary A. F. DeLisa and Anthony DeLisa, both of Wethersfield; and several nieces and nephews, among them Kathleen DiD-onato and her husband, Thomas, of Wethersfield.

Roland R. Desmarais, 71, husband of Dorothy (Perry) Desmarais) of Vernon, formerly of South Windsor, died Sunday, (January 16, 2000) at his home. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Omer and Marie Desmarais. He was a graduate of Buckeley High School and served two years in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Desmarais worked in banking for 41 years and was a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He retired from Fleet Bank in 1 990 as a vice president and trust officer. HewasactiveintheSouthWindsor Little League and was a communicant as well as an Eucharistic Minister with St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor.

Roland and Dorothy had six children and eleven grandchildren. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Pamela of Tolland, John and Karen of Coventry, and Gary and Brenda of South Windsor; three daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Roger Drain of Middlebury, Linda and David Trudnak of Enfield, and Laurie and Mark Smith of South Windsor. He leaves two brothers and a sister-in-law, Armand and Irene of West Hartford, and Robert of California. Theeleven grandchildren are Brittany and Geoffrey Desmarais, Angela Desmarais, Amy and Michelle Desmarais, Ryan and Krista Drain, Christopher and Danielle Trudnak, and Matthewand Andrew Smith. Relatives and friends may gather Wednesday, 8: 1 5 a.m., at the Samsel Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland South Windsor, and 9 a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial in St.

DZWIL, Mary (Markowski) Mary (Markowski) Dzwil, 79, of Cape Coral, FL, died Thursday, (January 13, 2000) in Florida. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late La-dislaus and Josephine Markowski, she resided in Newington for manyyears, moving to Clinton several years ago and to Florida several monthsago. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and was employed by the Newington School System. She is survived by her husband, Aloysius Dzwil and a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Elea-nore Dzwil of Cape Coral, FL. She isalso survived by two grandchildren, Brenda Ann Dzwil, of Berlin, and Robert Dzwil and his wife, Deborah, of Beverly, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Emily Dzwil.

Also surviving is a brother, John Markowski of Southington and two sisters-in-law, Mary Markowski and Joan Markowski of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, LeonandJoseph Markowski, and two sisters, Sophie Masselli and Stella Gromack. KOWALSKI, Pauline (Samorajczyk) Pauline (Samorajczyk) Kowalski, a long time resident of New Britain and Stonington, passed away on Friday, (January 14, 2000) at her daughter's home in Golden Beach, FL.

She was 96 years of age. She leaves behind a son, Dr. Kasimer Kowalski and his wife, Mary (Edwards) Kowalski, of Stonington; a daughter, Florence Dipietro of Golden Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Ronald A. Kowalski of Rocky Hill, Lorraine Mathis and husband David Mathis, of Wethersfield, and Dr. Diane P.

Kowalski and husband Dr. Philip M. Meeks of Wethersfield; two great-grandchildren, Mary Mathis and Hope Kuyng Mathis, both of Wethersfield; along with several nieces and nephews. The rite of committal will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at 9:1 5 a.m.

Jones, 86, of Canterbury Court, Middletown, beloved husband of 61 years to Josephine (Pillarella) Jones, died unexpectedly Saturday (January 15, 2000) at the Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Middletown, son of the late James J. and Susan (Herdman) Jones. Prior to his retirement, he was vice-president of Hartford Special Machinery Co. He was an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus, Forest City Council No.

3 and very active at St. Colman's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Anthony Santostefano of Middlefield, and Susan and Douglas Prichard of Middle-town; three sisters, Catherine Zachary and Frances Ahlquist, both of Middle-town, and Mary Schafer of Old Say-brook; five grandchildren, all who have special memories of times spent with Alicia and her spouse, Daniel Sessa, Lauren and her spouse, Michael Schesselman, Jason and his spouse, KerriSantostefano.ThomasJr. and his spouse, Jennifer, and Jes Michael and his spouse Kristie Egan; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday with a 9 a.m.

Joseph College, 1678 Asylum West Hartford. The Biega Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. KOENIG. Eva (Carlson) Eva (Carlson) Koenig, 81, beloved wife of the late John R. Koenig, died Saturday, (January 15, 2000) at St.

Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Amy (Johnson) Carlson. She lived for many years in Manchester and Harrison, NY, moving to South Windsor in 1978. She and John also spent much time at their home in Giants Neck at Old Lyme. Eva was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Man-' Chester.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, George and Cynthia Gentile, with whom she lived for ten years in South Windsor. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Barbara Carlson of East Hartford; her sister, Gloria Benson of Florida; four grandchildren and their spouses, Diana and Tom Reardon of Glastonbury, Duane and Elizabeth Gentile of Vernon, Jewel and Mark Merrell of Coventry, and Douglas and Darlene Gentile of Vernon; seven grandchildren, Devon, Kathryn, Douglas, Christina, Thomas, Glenden, and Sydonie; a special niece, Carole Vance Churney; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edwin Carlson, and sister, Violet Petersen. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 19, 1 1 a.m., at the Samsel Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd, South Windsor, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating.

Karol W. Lachowicz, 74, of West Street in the Plantsville section of Southington, died Saturday, (January 1 5, 2000) at Southington Care Center. He wasthe husband of MaryAnn Buda Lachowicz. Born in Poland, November 4, 1 925, the son of the late Jan and Veteran of World War II, having served in the Polish Army. Karol came to Southington in 1956 where he was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

He retired in 1990 from the former New England Aircraft, Co. in Farmington. He was an avid fisherman and was formerly an active member of the P.N and P.A.V. In addition to his wife, MaryAnn, Karol is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Yan and Ami Lachowicz of New Hartford; his daughter and future son-in-law Margo Lachowicz of Plantsville and Richard Palarczyk of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Evan and Andria Lachowicz; several nieces and nephews in Poland and Canada; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Buda of Southington. He was predeceased by his sister, Anna Fe-liczek.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, at 9 a.m. from the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

(Chepulis) Nitch, 88, of Post Road, Enfield, died Saturday, (January 15, 2000) in Johnson Memorial Hospital. Born in Suff ield, she lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Enfield in 1951. Mary was a retired twenty-year welder for Pratt Whitney, retiring in 1 976. She also worked forfifteen years in the senior program for Casual Corner in Enfield. She was a communicant of St.

Adalbert's Church and was a member of the Enfield SeniorCitizens. Her husband, Joseph S. Nitch, died in 1979. She leaves four sons, Joseph E. Nitch of Enfield, Lawrence J.

Nitch of Rocky Hill, Daniel A. Nitchand Albert J. Nitch, both of Enfield; four daughters, Theresa A. Hoerauf of Indian Hills, CO, Rita T. Annis of Palm Springs, FL, Carolyn N.

Wichniewicz of Enfield, and Patricia I. Ottani of Springfield; a sister, Nellie Motz, of WilkesBarre, PA; twenty-five grandchildren; and thirty-eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday, 9 a.m., from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, with a Mass in Holy Family Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Leete-Stevens on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Donations in Mary's name may be made to the Enfield Community Ambulance Fund, Box 1249, Enfield, CT, 06083-1249. Herbert E. Lindholtz, 77, of West Hartford, died Friday (January 14, 2000).

He was born in Sweden and resided in West Hartford all of his life. Herbert worked forthe Colt Manufacturing Company as a machinist until his retirement. He is survived by his niece, Christina M. Burke and her husband, Robert S. of West Hartford; and a nephew, Gary R.

Lindholtz of Gains-ville, FL. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 10-11 a.m., at Taylor Modeen Funeral Home, 136 S. Main West Hartford. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately at Zion Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492-7522. MAGDEFRAU, Frances E. Frances E. Magdefrau, 63, of Lawrence Rockville, died Saturday (January 15, 2000) at a local nursing home.

She was the loving wife of 44 years of Richard H. Magdefrau. Franc- es was born in Hartford December 1 6, 1936, the daughter of Pauline (Glaser) Fink of Rockville and the late George Fink. Mrs. Magdefrau resided in Rockville most of her life.

She wasa member of Union Congregational Church. Besides her husband and her mother; she is survived by her son, David Magdefrau of Rockville; and her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Pozza-to of Tolland; and her grandson, Matthew Pozzato. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 11 a.m., at Grove Cemetery, Rockville with the Rev. David C. Nutt officiating.

O'Neil, 83, of Pleasant St. Johnsbury, VT, died at NVRH Monday evening (January 10, 2000). He was employed by the Peck Co. in St. Johnsbury forfortysevenyears.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie Sherrer O'Neil; three daughters, Susan Grayson and husband. Dr. Donald R. Grayson, of Bloomfield, CT, Peggy O'Neil and partner, Philip Sou-cy, of Alexandria, VA, and Marianne Gingue and husband, Pierre, of Willis-ton, VT; three grandchildren; one brother, John J. O'Neil of White River VT; and nieces and nephews.

PALMER, Kenneth W. Kenneth W. Palmer, 83, of Simsbury, CTand Jettersonville, VT, died Friday, (January 14, 2000) at the home of his daughter, Su san. Ken was born June 30, 1916 in Maynard, MA, son of Mildred Walker Palmer and Dr. Raymond C.

Palmer. He graduated from Lawrence Academy and Williams College, classof 1938. He served in the Air Force as a navigator during WWII. He was employed by The Traveler's Insurance Co. in Hartford, CTfor40years.

Hehadalovefortravel-ing, the out-of-doors, nature, and reading. He was a kind, generous, and loving person who touched the lives of many. He is dearly missed by his family and friends. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Mary Graham Palmer, and is survived by his son. "Buzz" Barton, husband of 49 years of Teresa M. Barton) and a retired captain of the Bristol Police died sud denly on Saturday (January 1 5, 2000). He was born in Bristol, Aug. 31, 1921, son of Anthony a nd Frances Barton, attended local schools, Hartford Public High School and what was then Central Conn. State College.

He joined the supernumerary police force in 1941 but soon after, enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in the Atlantic Theater of War during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1945. On Jan. 23, 1949, he was appointed totheregular police forceand worked his way up through the ranks to the position of captain in command of operations. He retired August, 1981, and launched his own investigation agency which hecontinued to run until last August. He was a member of St.

Joseph Church, the Bristol Lodge of Elks, where he served with the waiter's crew forthe Family Night dinners, the Bristol Boys' Club where he held membership for over 70 years, and various professional law enforcement and investigative organizations. During his early years as a police officer, he was a dedicated participant in the annual CYO-Police basketball contests and before thattime, had a long, local basketball career with the St. Stanislaus League, the Bristol Tramps, the Bristol Clowns and Gipper's Oilers.
