Francis Augustine Lonergan of 142 Oakland Terrace, Hartford, who for 12 years was deputy collector in charge of the United War I and whose memory Russell K. Bourne Post, American Legion, of Wethersfield, was founded.

Sha was the widow of Howard P. Bourne of North Edgecomb, Me. Born in Wethersfield, Mrs. Bourne was a member of the Trinity Church, Wethersfield. She was also a member of the auxiliary of Russell K.

Bourne Post. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Richard W. DeLamater of two nieces, Miss Laura DeLamater of Woolwick, England, and Miss Caroline K. DeLamater of Wethersfield; and an aunt, Mrs.

Harriet Kellogg of e-s Hartford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p. m. at the James T. Pratt Company Funeral Chapel Mary Hannon, all of Hartford; a sister, Mrs.

Mary Cochran of Ireland; four brothers, James Hannon of New Haven, Patrick and Michael Hannon, both of Hartford, and Thomas Hannon of Ireland. Mrs. Raymond P. Hickey, Jr. Mrs.

Ruth (Selig) Hickey, wife of Raymond K. Hickey, of 54 Cone Street died at St. Francis Hospital, Saturday night. She was born, in Stratford, a daughter of the late George W. and Catherine (Gensheimer) Selig.

Born in Bridgeport, the son of Edward Lonergan of 50 Ardmore Road, West Hartford, and the late Margaret (Lawlor) Lonergan, he was 48 years old.

He received his education in Bridgeport and shortly after graduation from high school he entered the government customs service. His first duties took him to Washington and in April, 1918 he was transferrd to the Hartford Port. In succession he had the positions of outside inspector, marine clerk and then cashier. "He was 33 years of age. when appointed deputy collector.

Law Authority. He was recognized as an authority on customs law and regulations and as an expert appraiser of woolens and silk goods. He was required to pass upon large shipments of the latter destined for the Cheney mills in Manchester and large woolen shipments from Australia for the Bigelow-Sanford plant in Thompsonville, among other duties. His duties as collector in charge of the Hartford office required him to check -passengers on overseas airliners which were forced down at Hartford. Besides his father, Mr.

Lonergan leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary (Hall) Lonergan; a daughter, Miss Mary Lonergan and a brother, Edward J. Lonergan, assistant United States attorney. Funeral services will be held at the Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmginton Avenue, Tuesday at 9:30 a. m.

Davis. San Francisco, Sept. 13. (AP.) Francis H. Davis, 79, retired en gineer who: made the survey for a proposed canal through Nicaragua, died last night.

Davis was an engineer in the building of the Hudson River tube linking Manhattan with New Jersey. Daisy Dormer. London, Sept. 13. (AP.) Daisy Dormer, 64, a star of the English variety stage for many years, died today.
