Bertha (Gahagan) Cur-less of 75 Rivermead East Hartford, wife of Leonard Curless, died Tuesday (May 29) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Caribou, Maine, and lived in this area many years. The funeral will be Friday, 8:15 a.m., from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 9 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford.

Burial will tie in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 7-9 p.m. BECKER. Frances Edith Becker, 54 of Bull Hill Road, Colchester, died Monday, (May 28) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital.

Born in Hartford, Feb. 24, 1930, daughter of Arthur J. and Florence E. (Brother-ton) Vils of Berlin. She was a member of Westchester Congregational Church.

She was married on Jan. 21, 1951 in New Rochelle, N.Y. to Alexander Becker. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ms. Claudia Becker of Colchester, and Mrs.

Alaxa McClain of San Diego, a brother, Charles Martin of Berlin; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial funeral service will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Westchester Congregational Church. Interment at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westchester Congregational Church Memorial Fund. Belmont Funeral Home, 19 S. Main RUSSELL. Frances (Henry) Russell of Brunswick Avenue, West Hartford, wife of Wilfred B. Russell, died Monday, (May 28, 1984) at St.

Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Watertown, she lived in west Hartford for 13 years moving from Beacon Falls, Conn. She was a retired principal and supervisor at the Laurel Ledge School in Beacon Falls. She was a graduate of New Haven Normal School and had received her BS degree from Southern Connecticut State College, and her masters in education from the University of Connecticut. She was a former president of St.

Michael's Women's Guild, and former coordina- tor of St. Michael's CCD Program in Beacon Falls. She was the former secretary of the Library Board of Beacon Falls. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ellyn) Stosuy of West Hartford; two grandsons, and three granddaughters; a twin sister, Mrs.

Lester Forst Sr. of Southbury; several nieces and i nephews including Lester J. Forst of Southbury, and Mrs. Robert Brazeau of Pittsfield, Mass. Funeral will be Friday at 9:15 a.m, from Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington West Hartford, with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m.

ROBERTS. Arthur L. Roberts, 73, of West Hartford, died Monday (May 28) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Utica, N.Y., he had lived in New York City, moving to the Hartford area in 1952. He was employed by the Whalon Drug Stores in New York City, moving to Hartford to be manager of the store here.

He left the store after 30 years and has been a pharmacist for the NRTA-AARP in East Hartford the last 3 years. He leaves three sons, Richard A. Roberts of Suffield, Reese G. Roberts of Windsor and Robert E.Roberts of West Hartford; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen L.

Bellinger of Southington, Mrs. Nancy G. Winterbottom of West HartfOrd and Miss Lynn C. Roberts of Chicago, III; a brother, Walter Roberts of Utica, N.Y.; nine grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Richard W.

ROJEK. Thaddeus J. Rojek, 60, of the Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Hospital, died in Rocky Hill Monday, (May 28). Born in New Britain, he had been at the hospital the last 15 years. He was formerly employed as a machinist for the North 8, Judd New Britian.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy and was aboard the USS Burns DD588, and had been In several battle engagements in the PELOQUIN. In Bristol. Armarid Pe-loquin, 75, of 66 Birchwood Drive, Bristol, husband of the late Felix-ina (Mallette) Peloquin, died Monday, (May 28, 1983) at home. Before retiring he was employed as a lens polisher for the American Optical now known as Warner-Lambert Inc. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs.

William (Claire) Hebert of Farmington; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral procession from the Hangen-Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Rt. 4, Unionville, will be today at 1:40 p.m., followed by a mass of Christian burial in the Church of St. Mary, Unionville at 2 p.m. Burial will be in St.

Mary's Cemetery, Avon. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service. STOCKER. Louis J. Stocker, 70, of 54 Abbe Road, Enfield, died Tuesday (May 29) at his home.

He was born; in Enfield and was a lifelong resident. He was engaged in farming and meat processing over 50 years. He was a former memberof -the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. He is survived by his wife, Sophie (Mo- teunas) Stocker; three sons, Dari-iel, Philip and Eric Stocker, allot Enfield; a daughter, Mrs. Christine Posnock in New Jersey, and a granddaughter.

David James Bartlett 27, of 360 Capri Treasure Island, formerly of 67 Sunset Ridge, East Hartford, died Sunday, (May 27, 1984) In Treasure Island, Fla. Born in East Hartford, he resided in East Hartford most of his life, moving to Florida two years ago. He was owner and president of the Travelrama Travel Agency, Clearwater, Fla.

A graduate of East Hartford High School class of 1974, a graduate of Bryant College, Smithfield, R.I., where he majored in business. He was a member of the Rotary Club Florida, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was married September of 1983 in Newport, R.I. He lis survived by his wife, Patricia XNagle) Bartlett; his parents, Da-Jvid J. and Ann (Goodchild) Bart- left Sr.

of East Hartford; a sister, Eve-Ann (Bartlett) Magoon of his maternal grandfather, William E. Goodchild of West Hartford; several aunts and uncles, a niece and a nephew. BINGHAM. Leslie M. Bingham, 86, iot 1202 Western S.W., Can-iton, Ohio, husband of Dorothy A. Bingham, died May 16, at his home. Born in Ellsworth, Ohio, he attended Maryville College, Tennessee, and Wooster College, Ohio.

In 1924, he established residence in the Greater Hartford and lived in Bloomfield for '28 years with his first wife Dora Bingham and children. 1 Mr. Bingham retired in 1963, after 35 years of service with the Manufacturer's Association of Connecticut, Inc. (now C.B.I.A.). He was editor of the association's official monthly publication, 'Con- necticut Industry', and wrote numerous historical reviews of Connecticut's business and indus- trial firms.

As secretary and director of development, he was pri-'marily involved in membership and public relations activities, in- eluding organization of education-- al and marketing programs de- signed to advance Connecticut's industries. He was director and program chairman of the Con-" necticut Chapter National Indus- trial Advertiser's Association and a charter member of the Connecticut Industrial Editor's Associa-' tion. He served as vice-president of the Bloomfield Lion's Club and treasurer of the Republican Town Committee. In 1966, he returned to Ohio and settled in Canton. Be-l sides his wife, he is survived Jay children of his first marriage, Ar-', thur Bingham of New York City, and Marjorie Bingham of Farm-jington.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m., at the Liberty Cemetery, Robertsville, Ohio. BOTANA. Philip G. Botana, 68, of West Hartford, beloved husband HUNNICUTT. Joseph Edgar Hunni-cutt, 87, of Pompano Beach, died Monday (May 28) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Born in Atlanta, he had lived much of his life in West Hartford. He was a graduate, class of 1919, from Georgia Tech. He was a member of the Universalis! Church of West Hartford and an associate member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach, Fla. He was a member of the Hartford Golf Club, a past member of the Old Guard of West Hartford, the University Club of Hartford, the American Legion and was a 32nd degree mason. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Wilcox) Hunnicutt; three children, Edgar W.

Hunni-cutt of Pompano Beach, Frank L. Hunnicutt of Stuart, and Betty H. Bailey of Louisville, 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will be Friday (June 8), I p.m., at the Universalist Church of West Hartford. LAZEROW. Rubin Lazerow, 96, of 150 Harold Hartford, died Tuesday (May 29) at a local con va-lescent home. Born in Russia, he had lived in the Hartford area most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was a retired builder. He was a member of the Hartford Mutual Society and the Disabled American Veterans.

He leaves his wife, Mollie (Kaplan) Lazerow; two sons, Arnold M. Lazerow of Hartford and Norman Lazerow of East Hartford; two grandchildren, Carey and Pamela Lazerow. Funeral service wilt be today, 3 p.m., at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home and Hospital, 615 Tower Hartford. HYLAND. James Aloysius Hyland 57, of 13 Pinecrest Drive, East Hartford, husband of Marion (Scully) Hyiand, died Tuesday, (May 29) at his home. Born in Hartford, he had been a resident of East Hartford the last 34 years. Until his retirement two years ago, he had been employed by U.S. Post Office Department.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he is sur-vied by his mother, Katherine (McKeon) Hyland of Wethers-field; a son, Brian S. Hyland of East Hartford; three daughters, Eileen Vibberts of Stafford, Kathleen Duran and Susan Hyland, both of East Hartford; a sister, Mary Hayes of Wethersfield; four grandchildren. There will be a mass of Christian burial Friday at 10 a.m. in St.

Christopher's Church, East Hartford. Burial will be in Veterans section of Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Louis Levine, 92, of 615 Tower died May 29, 1984. He was born in New York City, and had lived in the Hartford area most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War and was a retired employee of Pratt Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. He was a member of Congregation Ados Israel, Beth Hillel Synagogue, and the Hartford Laurel Post JWV. He leaves a son, Israel Levine of Bloomfield; a daughter, Mrs.

Joseph (Ina) Neiman of Newington; a brother, Irving Levine of Hollywood, two sisters, Mrs. Leah Gantzer of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Mrs. Irene LaSalle of New York City; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farming-ton Ave.

Frank Mulazzi, 75, of 338 Foote Road, South -husband of the late Louise (Draghi) Mulazzi, died Tuesday, (May 29) at Hartford Hospital.

Born in New York City, he lived in DAVIS. Carlton J. Davis, 27, of 294 Vine Hartford, died Saturday (May 26) at William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich. He was a lifelong resident of Hartford.

He was employed by Advo Systems in Windsor. He is survived by his parents. Earl Davis of Hartford and EIFreda Davis of Hartford; five brothers, Donnie and Larry Davis, Donald Brown, Douglas and Derrick Davis, all of Hartford; a sister, Lisa Davis of Hartford; his paternal grandmother, Ella Tyson of Georgia; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Del Valle, 28, of 73 Catherine Hartford, died Sunday (May 27) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Rio Fgiedras, Puerto Rico, he is survived by his wife, Maria (Santos) Del Valle; two sons, Johnathan, Juan II; two daughters, Jeanette and Jannell; his mother, Gladys Robles), all of Hartford; two brothers, Jesus of Hartford, and Angelo of New Britain; six sisters. Carmen Rodriguez of Carolina, P.R., Estrella Roman, Julia Ortolojah, Carmen Ortiz, Nancy Rodriguez, and Martiza Martinez. She was employed by the Community Renewal Team as a teacher's aide for the Head Start program. She is survived by a son, Sharrieff Lawrence Geter of Hartford; her mother, Nancy Sailor of Hartford; her stepfather, Harold Sailor Sr. of Hartford; an aunt, Lottie Newman of Hartford; three sisters, Emma Lee Harrell of Washington, D.C., Pamela Sailor and Deborah Sailor Smith, both of Hartford; three brothers, Harold Sailor Jr. and Edward G. Sailor, both of Hereford, and George K.

Sailor of Hampton, her maternal grandfather, Jake Lawyer of Savannah, several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, William Lee. Navy, of 136 W. Washington, El Cajon, died Saturday (May 26) in San Diego, as a result of injuries sustained in a truck-motorcycle accident. He had formerly lived in New Britain and Enfield until 1977, when he joined the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Enrico Fermi High School, class of 1977.

He Is sur- vived by his wife, Kathryn (Warnke) Hart of San Diego, a son, Zachariah Hart; his Francis and Barbara (Lucas) Hart of Enfield; a sister, Mrs. Peter (Cathryn) Cochefski of Newington; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Raymond Hart, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Adam Kwider, both of New Britain. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

KUSSNER. Frances (Brody) Kussner, 71, of 11 Monroe Shel-ton, died May 29 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Wife of Morris Kussner; mother of Roy Kussner of Weston and Mrs. Brian (Dale) Osborn of Newington; sister of Stephen Brody of Philadelphia, four grandchildren. Funeral service will be today at 12 noon at the Beth Israel Synagogue Center, 300 Elizabeth Derby.

Leary, 84, of Naugatuck, died Monday, (May 28) in Waterbury following a brief illness. He was born July 3, 1899, son of Edward J. and Mary Tiffany Leary. He was retired from Uniroyal Footwear Divison where he served as plant superintendent. He leaves two sons, Edward J.

Leary Jr. of Farmington, and Kevin J. Leary of Naugatuck; a sister, Mrs. Marie Durkin of Wal-tham, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Born in Hartford, she was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of class of 1938 of Mount Holyoke College, she was a member of Immanuel Congregational Church of Hartford and its Business and Professional Women's Club. Prior to her retirement, she was a librarian at the University of Connecticut Law School, Hartford. She is survived by a brother, Major (Ret.) Russell D. Brown, USAF, of Tampa, two sisters, Mrs.

Robert W. (Martha) Martin of Jupiter, and Mrs. Lock-wood (Sylvia) Lyon of Bloomfield Hills, her stepmother, Mrs. Carolyn (Lyon) Brown of Rocky Hill; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Immanuel Congregational Church, corner of Woodland Street and Farmington Avenue.

Helga (Bergljot) Bjornsson, 85, of South Brunswick, N.J., died in Moorestown, N.J. on Saturday, (May 26). Wife of the late Alex; mother of Donald nut-son; sister of Charles Johnson; grandmother of five. Funeral will be Friday, June 1 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Rt.

Mr. Canzater was born in Blythewood, S.C., and had lived in Hartford the last 32 years. He is survived by a son, Fred Palmer of Blythewood, S.C.; four brothers, Willie Canzater of Newark, N.J., Pat, Jasper and George Canzater, all of Blythewood, S.C.; two sisters, Allie Palmer of Blythewood, S.C., and Sarah Thacher of Newberry, S.C.; three grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Clark, Bell Perkins Funeral Home, 319 Barbour Hartford.

Burail will be in Northwood Cemetery, Wilson. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. COPELAND. The Rev. Milton Harvey Copeland 53, of 25 Laurel Hartford, departed this life Monday (May 28, 1984) in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Rev. Copeland was born and educated in Norfolk, and attended Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was awarded World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal for service in Okinawa. The Rev.

Copeland was actively involved in the gospel music field and had 'performed with numerous local and national gospel groups. He was a gospel promoter for many years in the Hartford area. He was a member of New England Gospel Association. At the time of his death, he was a member of the "1 rumpets of Joy" of New Britain and the "Voices of Deliverance." He was a founder and member of St. John's Full Gospel Deliverance Temple, where he was a past deacon and later was ordained a minister.

He was a member of the Ministerial Alliance of St. John's Full Gospel Church. He was a member of the Finance Committee and many other auxiliaries. The Rev. Copeland is survived by three daughters, Becky R.

Jackson of Bloomfield, M. Lorraine Pope and Beverly J. Copeland, both of Hartford; a son, Milton H. Copeland Jr. of Montgomery, two sisters, Geraldine S.

Johnson of New Britain and Evelyn G. Roomes of Hartford; a brother, Clifton Copeland Jr. of Hartford; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral will be Friday, 11 a.m., at St. John's Full Gospel Deliverance Temple, 290 Cornwall with burial In Soldier's Field, Wilson.

Mabel (Freedman) Fink of 600 72nd Miami Beach, died May 27. Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m., at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfleld. Mrs. Armida (Scurti) Sbrolla, formerly of Hartford, died Monday, (May 28) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Widow of James Sbrolla. Born in Italy, she lived in Hartford 60 years. She was a member of Our Ladies of LaSalette Society of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

She leaves a son, John Sbrolla of Deep River; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Dillon of Manchester; a brother, Henry Scurti of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters. Miss Rena Scurti of Plain-ville, and Mrs. Yolanda Sani of New Britain; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Friday at 10:15 a.m.

SCHULTZ. Frederick C. Schultz, 61, of County Farm Road, Pueblo, died Tuesday, May 22. Son of the late Frederick J. and Elizabeth F.

Schultz, and brother of William E. Schultz of Manchester. He was born and raised in East Hartford, and a former resident of Glastonbury. He was a veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, Yvonne (Ball) Schultz, and his brother, he Is survived by his children, Vincent, William, Richard and Nancy, and four grandchildren, two aunts, cousins and two nieces.
