Cotter (Jack) of Fairfield, the devoted husband of Mary Leland Galvin Cotter, formerly of Baltimore, MD, and father of ten children, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday (October 29, 2007), after a long illness. Born in Washington, D.C., on November 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Honorable D. Harold Cotter and Lillian Stumpf Cotter. Jack graduated from Georgetown University 1946, and Georgetown Law School 1949, he was the founder of Cotter, Cotter and Sohon, P.C. In addition to his beloved wife, Jack is survived by 10 children, 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Nancy Cotter Sohon, and husband Julian, of Fairfield. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas H. Cotter. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 1, from 4 8 p.m. in the Lesko Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield center.

His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 2, at 10 a.m. directly in St. Church, Fairfield, CT. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Mausoleum with full military honor.

(Goldfarb) Marion R. (Goldfarb) Black of Vernon, age 83, died Tuesday, (October 30, 2007). She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Black for 46 years. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Abraham and Sarah Goldfarb. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She always liked to write creatively with stories and poems. She was associated with Kehilat Chaverim in West Hartford. She was a volunteer for the Vernon and South Windsor Public libraries. Marion was self-employed at her own bakery in South Windsor for 25 years. She is survived by a daughter Sherri Raboin and her husband Edward Detoffol of Norwich, two sons, Andrew Black and his wife Joan of Bethany and Howard Black, of Glastonbury, six cherished grandchildren, Jason, Liza, Connor, Mackenzie, Cailey, and Kevin.

The funeral service will be private. A memorial observance will be held at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Sharon was born on October 19, 1950 in Hartford to William and Jean Crosier. She was predeceased by her parents. Sharon leaves her sisters, Mary Soldano of Hartford, and Deborah Loranger and her husband Ronald of Westbrook; her beloved niece, Madeleine Severin of New York City; and nephews Sonny Soldano and his wife Jennifer of Murfreesboro, TN, and Devin Soldano of Hartford. She also leaves her great-nephew Joshua, and great-niece Summer Soldano. Sharon was employed for many years at Friendly's Corp.

Dampf, died Saturday (October 27, 2007) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born January 21, 1915 in Stamford, daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Ornowski) Serafin she had lived in Glastonbury for the past 45 years. Helen was a communicant of St. Paul Church, a member of the League of the Sacred Heart, the church choir, St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Glastonbury Garden Club, and was a former member of the Glastonbury Hills Country Club.

She is survived by five sons, Raymond C. Dampf, Jr. of Glasonbury, Karl F. Dampf of Prescile, ME, Frank R. Dampf of Derby, Peter J.

Dampf of Los Angeles, CA, and Robert P. Dampf of Topanga Canyon, CA; a daughter, Eleanore Clang of Portland, OR; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. ALEXANDER, Wesley Sr. Mr. Wesley Harlan Alexander, 80, of 775 Mountain Cheshire, died Saturday (October 27, 2007) at the Mid- State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of the late Mattie (Blume) Alexander, who died in 1993. Mr.

Alexander was born in Rockville Center, NY, May 27, 1927, a son of the late Arthur and Alva (Lyons) Alexander and had been a Cheshire resident for the past 50 years, moving here from Wallingford. He maintained a summer home on Mooselookmeguntic Lake in Oquossoc, ME. He was a graduate of Cheshire Academy and the Citadel and was a U.S. Navy veteran of serving during World War II. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, the Hamden Fish and Game Protective Assoc.

and the National Rifle Assoc. He was a retired Industrial Engineer, having worked for Scovill Mfg. Co. and later for Armstrong Rubber Co. Mr.

Alexander had been active for most of his life in Masonry. He was a member and Past Master of Compass Lodge No. 9 Wallingford Past District Deputy, Masonic Dist 4 of The Grand Lodge of Connecticut; Past Honorary Grand Commander Of The Grand Commandery Of Connecticut; Past Commander of New Haven Commandery No. 2 and St Elmo No. 9 Knights Templar; a Member of Connecticut Priory No.

28, Knights of the York Cross of Honour; The York Rite College No. 17 and is the Holder of the Order of the Purple Cross. He was a Past High Priest of Paulaski Chapter No. 26; Past Trice Illustrious Master of Crawford Council No. 19 and additional allied organizations of the York Rite.

He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of New Haven, 32nd degree; the Lafayette Consistory, Valley of Bridgeport, and had received his Honorary 33rd Degree on September 26, 2000. He was also a member of Sphinx Temple of the Shrine Newington Ct. and The Highlanders Pipe Band. He was also a member of The Dusis Society of New Haven. He leaves two sons, Wesley H.

Alexander, Jr. and his wife Jamie of Beverly Hills, FL and John M. (Joy) (Houghtaling) Furbush, 76, of East Hartford beloved wife of Leonard Furbush passed away on Monday (October 29, 2007), of natural causes.

For the last few months she had been fighting a battle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1931 in Norwich, NY she was the daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Sharpe) Joy. Ellie is survived by two sisters Irene Leake of California, and Esther Drogan of Norwich, NY. Predeceased by two brothers William and Harold Joy, she is also predeceased by her former husband Ralph Houghtaling. Ellie moved from New York to Connecticut in 1957 and resided in East Hartford for the last 35 years.

Ellie was a stay at home Mom and Grandma who always took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren when needed. She worked briefly with Aetna Life Casualty and at the Brookside in East Hartford. She is also survived by eight children, Karen (Joy) Cohen, of Norwich NY, Jim Houghtaling and wife Susie of Waynesville MI, Anita (Wilson) Islek and husband Alp of Somers. She was born August 11, 1925 in Hartford, the youngest of six children to Ellen and Henry Dickinson. She graduated from Hall High in West Hartford in 1943, and from Ohio University, in 1948. Helen worked for many years as a dietician in the West Hartford school district. In 1953 she married the late David G. Elliott, her beloved husband of 33 years.

Helen is remembered for her warm loving personality, dedication to her family and her wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Miller, and her husband Bob, of Granby and sons Richard Elliott, and his wife Victoria, of East Lyme, and David Elliott, and his wife Maria, of Cambridge, MA. Helen is also survived by her sister, Olive Dickinson of Bloomfield and brother, Russell Dickinson, and his wife Connie of Roswell, GA; as well as four grandchildren; Jason Miller, Kari Miller, Jennifer Elliott and Carolyn Elliott. A retired key Punch operator for Industrial Risk Insurers in Hartford, Nellie moved to Port Charlotte from Simsbury in 1983. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Hesper Chapter in Simsbury. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Shands of Talbott, TN, Virginia (Don) Henthorn of Simi Valley, CA and Carolyn (Richard) Strelau of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister, Evelyn Rosenberg of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest G. Eib, five sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be held this Wednesday, October 31 from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte. Rev.

Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Fazzalaro J.C.D., 88, of Pompano Beach, FL, entered into eternal rest on Saturday (October 27, 2007). Msgr.

Fazzalaro was born on June 14, 1919, in Meriden, and was the son of Dominico and Rose DeMaria Fazzalaro. He had attended Meriden High School, St. Thomas Preparatory Seminary and St. Seminary. He was ordained to the priesthood on March 17, 1945 in St.

Cathedral of the Diocese of Hartford. He served at St. Church in Hartford and St. Thomas Church in Waterbury. He received a degree of Doctor of Canon Law from Catholic University in Washington, DC in 1950.

He served as Assistant Chancellor, Promotor of Justice, Secretary to the Bishop, Officialis and Vice Chancellor. He was named Very Reverend Monsignor by Pope Pius XII and later Right Reverend Monsignor by Pope John XXIII. He transferred to the Archdiocese of Miami in 1966. He was chaplain to both the Catholic Lawyers Guild and to the Broward County Serra Club. Msgr.

Fazzalaro served at Our Lady of the Lake Church and St. Lawrence Church. He became Pastor of St. Gabriel Church, Pompano Beach in 1983 from where he retired in 2002. He was an accomplished pianist and composed many religious hymns.

Msgr. Fazzalaro is survived by his sister Eleanor Fazzalaro; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by three brothers James, Joseph and Julius Fazzalaro, two sisters Jennie and Theresa Fazzalaro. Calling hours for Msgr. Fazzalaro will be held Friday, November 2, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Meriden, from 4-8 p.m.

Family and friends may also be received from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Saturday November 3, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where there will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad Meriden.

Frederick G. Farley, 80, passed away Monday (October 29, 2007), after a brief illness. Fred was born December 5, 1926 in Bristol, to Alexander and Dorothy (Horton) Farley and moved to Kittery, ME when he was 14. Fred graduated from Traip Academy and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard during the closing years of World War II. He was a graduate of Keene State College in New Hampshire and the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

He taught Industrial Arts and Vocational Education in Bristol and Southington until his retirement in 1983. Fred retired to Kittery, ME where he enjoyed his garden and wood shop, but most of all his friends. He was a member of the Lions International and especially enjoyed working on the club building, can collection and Christmas tree sales. He was a long time member of the Middle Street Baptist Church of Portsmouth, NH, serving the church as trustee and deacon. Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Ellen (Stoddard) Farley.

Following her death he volunteered at the Harbor home of York, Maine and at other nursing homes where he could bring comfort and cheer. He is survived by his son Charles and daughter- in-law Joan, with whom he lived the last two years of his life; his brother and sister-in-law James and Lil; and nephews James, John and Joel and a niece Lizbeth. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, at the Middle Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, NH with the Rev. Vivan Martindale officiating. Interment will be in Orchard Grove Cemetery, Kittery, ME.

Frances L. Greene, an 86 year old former resident of Stafford Springs, died of lung cancer on Friday, (October 26, 2007) in Cape Coral, FL. She was originally from Thorndike, MA, and then Stafford Springs, before moving to Cape Coral, FL. Frances was the youngest of four siblings, all of whom predeceased her. Her husband, James D.

Greene, died September 17, 2007; they were married 66 years. Our Nana was very much loved by her children, who will miss her greatly, Burma R. Stelmak, and her husband, Dalton of Stafford Springs and James D. Greene, Jr. and his wife, Lynne of Enfield; and her grandchildren, Shawn R.

Stelmak, Scott C. Stelmak, James Greene III, William Greene, Todd Falkowski, and Kyle Falkowski. Fran is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was cheerful and fun to be with, even in her "down" days. Her family meant everything to her.

She was a good listener, and excellent at giving good advice. As tiny as she was, a loved one could always lean on her. She was always ready to help or give comfort to family and loved ones. After World War II, she worked alongside her husband at both Warren Woolen Co. and Johnson's Mill.

She then worked for Aetna in Hartford and later Pratt and Whitney, until she started her own real estate company. She created the Fran Greene Agency in Stafford, and ran it with her husband, James Greene, for 20 years, until they moved to Florida 25 years ago. Fran then worked with her brother-in-law, Daniel Greene at Caloosa Realty in Cape Coral, until she retired in her late 60's. Anthony Louis Giannattasio, 61, of Smith Lane, Burlington, beloved husband of Carol (Lesieur) Giannattasio, died Sunday (October 28, 2007), at Hartford Hospital after a courageous year long battle with cancer. He was born November 24, 1945 in Torrington, son of Minnie Giannattasio of Torrington and the late Joseph Giannattasio, Sr. and had lived in Torrington prior to moving to Burlington 33 years ago. Anthony was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1963 and Central Connecticut State University, Class of 1978 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He served in the U.

S. Navy from January 11, 1966 until October 19, 1971 stationed in San Diego, CA aboard the USS Nereus servicing submarines in the South China Seas during Vietnam. Anthony was employed with Aetna Life and Casualty, Hartford for 30 years and was a Manager, APO Financial, Annuity and Pension Operations. After his retirement he had a successful second career as a Mortgage Broker with Norcom Mortgage, Avon. He was a member of the Torrington Elks Lodge 372 and enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, golfing, biking, the Casinos, the New York Yankees and his 1968 Camero.

He also loved visiting New York City; seeing Broadway plays and having dinner at his favorite restaurant, Besides his beloved wife of 40 years Carol and his mother Minnie, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bob Zeller of Torrington; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Christine Giannattasio of Plainville and several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Giannattasio. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, Thursday, November 1, 5 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 2, 10 a.m. at St.
