Demetrios Vallides, Marlon, Ala. emeritus of the Yale Divinity School and a retired professor of religious literature, died Sunday at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was 86 and died after a heart attack. Morris joined Yale in 1931 and served as librarian for 40 years, retiring in 1972. During his tenure, he developed the China Records collection, assembling the letters and papers of former missionaries.

PARADIS. Albert R. Paradis, 45, of Tartia Road, East Hampton, husband of Deborah (Houle) Paradis, died Tuesday (Oct. 23), at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middle-town. He was born in Biddeford, Maine, Jan.

22, 1945, the son of Wilfred J. Paradis of Vernon and the late Rachel (Maurice) Paradis. He was a resident of East Hampton for 20 years, and was a carpenter employed by Carpenters Local 24, Cheshire. He was a member of the American Legion Post 197, Marlborough, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1631, Marlborough and French Social Circle, Hartford. Besides his wife and father, he Is survived by two sons, Demetrios Vallides; shoe repairer nized the library ior me neaaquar-ters of the World Council of Churches in Geneva.

Born near Garnett, Morris graduated from Baker University and Garrett Theological Seminary. He received degrees in library science from Columbia University. He leaves his wife, Jean Kelly Morris; two daughters, Thelma J. Morris of Cleveland, and Marcia M. Johnston of Arlington, a son, R.

Philip Morris of High Point, N.O; and two granddaughters. He formerly lived in Suffield and moved to Marion three years ago. Vallides was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Thompsonville. He was predeceased by his wife, Demetria Paganis Vallides.

JENKINS. Mabel Jenkins, 78, of Janet Lane, North Windham, died Monday (Oct. 22), at the Abbey Manor in Windham. She was born Feb. 8, 1912 In Becket, daughter of the late William and Mabel (Snow) Knowles.

She was a former Manchester resident, residing In the Willimantic area for the past 20 years. She is survived by four sons, Albert Biardi of Ful-lerton, Robert Biardi of Eastampton, Myles Biardi of New Britain, and Harrison Jenkins of Burlington; a daughter, Ju-die Lockwood of North Windham; a sister, Edythe Pesce of East Hartford; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 23), at John Dempsey Hospital, Farming-ton. Born in Lowell, she had lived in West Hartford most of her life. A retired school crossing guard for the Town of West Hartford, she was a member of St. Brigid Church, Elmwood section of West Hartford. Besides her husband, Mrs.

Morency is survived by two sons, Richard P. Morency of Woodstock, David P. Morency, Mechanicville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She also leaves two aunts, Yvonne Lemire, Manchester, and Blanche Lemire of Bloom-field. Funeral procession will be Thursday (Oct.

NIELSEN. Delia (McGraw) Nielsen, 88, of 51 Canal Road, Granby, widow of Eleordt M. Nielsen, died Monday (Oct. 22), at Hartford Hospital. Born in Caribou, Maine, she had lived in Granby for the last 44 years.

Before retiring, she was employed at the Stanadyne Corp. for 20 years. She leaves a son, William R. Roberts of West-field, a sister, Velma Carlson of Auburn, seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Edward S. Opalach, 67, of 228 E. Middle Turnpike, Manchester, died Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1990) at his home. He was born in Manchester, April 5, 1923, and was a lifelong resident.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Manchester, and the Army and Navy Club, Manchester, and Dil-worth, Quey Anderson American Legion Post No.

102, Manchester. He is survived by a son, Edward Opalach; two daughters, Lorie and Donna Opalach; a brother, Henry Opalach of Westport; six sisters, Regina O. Coope, with whom he made his home, Agnes O. Simpson, both of Manchester, Stella O. Kiro of East Hartford, Ida O.

He was 103. DEATH NOTICES STICKLOR. Rebecca (Fischberg) Stlcklor, 89, 130 Loomis Drive, West Hartford, widow of Jacob Stlcklor, died Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1990) at a local convalescent home. Born In Russia, she lived in the Hartford area for all of her life.

She was a member of Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford. She leaves two sons, Marshall B. Stlcklor of West Hartford, and Harold R. Stlcklor of Hartford; a daughter, Mrs. Kibbe (Shirley) Gersteln of West Hartford; a brother, Abraham Flshberg of Boca Raton, 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Louise Balkan, and Dlanne Neidltch; and a grandson, Jerry Sticklor. Funeral service will be today, 9:30 a.m., at Emanuel Cemetery, Wethersfield. Demetrios Vallides, 103, of 110 W. Lafayette Marlon, formerly of Suffield, died Tuesday (Oct. 23), at Pery County Hospital, Marion, Ala. Born in Greece, he lived in Thompsonville, before moving to Suffield in 1936 and then to Marion, Ala. three years ago.

He owned and operated the former Main Hat Shoe Repair In Thompsonville for 30 years, before retiring. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Thompsonville. He was the husband of the late Demetria (Paganis) Vallides. He is survived by a son, Michael Vallides of Marion, two daughters, Helen Buss of Woburn, and Lorraine Photakls of Norwalk, five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Saturday, 10:15 a.m., from the Nicholson Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Suffield followed services, 11 a.m., at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 24 Church Enfield 06082. WILLIAMS. Constance (Talbot Mais) Williams, 84, of West Hartford, widow of Staunton Williams of Farmington, died Sunday (Oct. 21, 1990) at Hartford Hospital. She painted flowers and landscapes with flowers.

She has had several exhibits in Canada and her paintings hang in many Connecticut houses. She is survived by two sons, Phillip Pockock of Naples, and Ian Pockock of Raleigh, N.C.; two step-sons, Dr. Henry M. Williams of Avon, and Staunton Williams Jr. of Greenwich; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 1990, 1 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington West Hartford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Louise (Miller) Woods, 82, of 6 Eno Windsor, died Monday (Oct. 22) at Mount Sinai Hospital. Born In Windsor, she graduated from the former John Fitch High School, and the former McQueen Secretarial School, Hartford. She had been employed by the Aetna Life as a private secretary, and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Windsor. She was predeceased by her husband, Seth V.

Woods In August 1990. She leaves her daughter and her husband, Jane L. and Ronald W. Zajac of West Suffield; four nephews; and a niece. The funeral will be Friday, 1 p.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 180 Park Windsor.

He was a retired textile worker at the former Cyril Johnston Woolen after 20 years of service, and Warren Woolen Matter 10 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Edward honorary life member of 1he Italian Benefit Society, Stafford Golden Age Club, and Stafford Grange No. 1. He Is survived -by his wife, Mrs.

DEATH NOTICES GOTHOLD. Lester Gothold, 81, of 64 Haynes Road, West Hartford, died Tuesday (Oct. 23), at a local convalescent home. He was a member of Teferes Israel, and a life member of the Board of Teferes Israel and past chairman of it's Cemetery Committee. He was also a member of the Hartford Progressive Lodge.

He survived by two brothers, J. Richard Gothold and David Gothold, both of West Hartford; and two nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Gothold. Funeral service will be today, 12 noon, in the chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farming-ton with burial in the Hartford Progressive Lodge Cemetery, Mahl Avenue, Hartford. 22), at the Connecticut Hospice In Branford. He was born Sept. 17, 1942 In Manchester, son of the late Michael and Katherine (Horwath) Haberern, and was a life long Coventry resident. For the past 10 years, he had owned and operated Habco Machine in Willimantic. Mr.

Haberern was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Society of Plastic Engineers and the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Willimantic. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Frazel) Haberern; two sons, Shawn R. Haberern of Aspen, and Hans P. Haberern of Vero Beach, two brothers, Eric Haberern of Coventry, and Robert Haberern of Enfield; a sister, Gladys Lemieux of Windham; and several nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard Haberern.

Thomas Asbury Johnson 86, of 85A Montville Hartford, died Sunday (Oct. 21) In a Boston, rest home after a brief illness. He was born In Ellington, April 30, 1904, and was a resident of Hartford for over 60 years. A member of Union Baptist Church, Hartford, he was a member of the Excelsior Lodge No. 3, PH, for over 50 years.

He was formerly employed at Trinity Episcopal Church, Wethersfield, and self-employed for over 20 years as an eggs and chicken dealer. He is survived by his wife, Cor-nelia T. Johnson of Newton, a daughter, Jonell Carol Johnson of Boston, a son, Thomas A. Jr. of Medford, a sister, Mae Arlene Gadpaille of Dorchester, six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 13 sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be Thursday, 11 a.m., in Union Baptist Church, 1921 Main Hartford, with calling hour, one hour prior to the service. Interment: Ellington Cemetery, Ellington. JONES. Thomas Lester Jones, 88, of Woodcrest Apartments, Battle Street, Somers, died Monday (Oct. 22) at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Olivette (Charest) Jones, who died in 1975. Born in Wilmington, he had lived in Springfield, for many years, moving to the Somers community over 40 years ago.

He was employed as a Tool Inspector for several years at Perkins Machine Springfield, and later at the Miller Oil Enfield, retiring In 1970. He also served on the Woodcrest Apartments Housing Board. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eileen and Wolfgang Schlessl of Somers, Carol and Raymond Modzel of Staff ord-ville, and Terri Davis of Ellington; a sister, Ann Ammerman of Wilmington, four grandchildren, Gary George, Kenneth Thomas Schlessl, Marie Carol, and Keith David Ammerman; and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by two sons, Peter Thomas Wise Rosen of Thailand, and Edward Hart Rosen of Salem; a sister, Roselee Hart Pollack of Jupiter, and two grandchildren, Scott and Stacey Rosen of New London. She was the widow of William Ryan. Born in Barre, she lived many years in the Hartford area, prior to moving to Newington 40 years ago. Mrs. Ryan attended Barre Public Schools and the University of Vermont. She retired from the Hartford Insurance Group after many years of employment.

Mrs. Ryan is survived by several nieces; and nephews; including Robena O'Malley of Newton Center, Robert O'Malley of Subury, William Ryan of Laramie, Michael Ryan of Denver, and locally her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ryan of Wethersfield. She was predeceased by her son, William B. Ryan.
