Arel, Sr. Born and raised in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Hormidas and Emma (Korouck) Barselou, Mrs.

Arel was a Newington resident since 1941. She was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington, and it's Ladies Guild. Mrs. Arel was formerly employed by Rayex Corp, Plainville, and previously by Stanley Tool, New Britain, and American Thread, Holyoke. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she leaves her two sons, George C.

Arel, Jr. and Joan of Houston, TX, and Paul R. Arel, of Manchester; her daughter and son-inlaw, Marguerite A. and Alan Siderowf of Newington; four grandchildren, Keith Arel and his wife, Judy of Pennsylvania, Kenneth Arel, Karl Arel and his wife, Amy of Texas, and Theresa Arel of Manchester; and four great grandchildren, Nathan, Micah Aron, and Sidney Arel. 'She also leaves a sister-in-law, Cecile Arel of East Haven, her dear friend Bertha Van Camp of Newington, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Paul R. Arel, and two brothers, Henri Barsalou and Dieudonne Barselou. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, at 9:15 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit.

Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Newington Memorial. BYRON, Barbara Anne Barbara Anne Byron, 60, of West Hartford died on Wednesday, (February 25, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Ward) Byron, she had lived in Newington for many years and had lived in West Hartford for the past 17 years. She was a 1965 graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She was a third grade in the East Hartford school system for 38 years, most recently teaching at Langford School and she was a former recipient of the East Hartford Teacher of the Year Award.

Barbara was an avid book reader and was appreciated by many for her acts of kindness. She is survived by her sisters and brotherin-law, Mary E. Byron of Manchester, Eileen and Phil Bartles of New Port Richey, FL; a niece and a nephew; several aunts and cousins, and her best friend, Mary Ellen. She was also predeceased by her brother, Francis "Jim" Byron. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 9:15 a.m.

Felix, Quebec, Canada on October 19, 1916 and was a son of the late Elphege and Alphonsine Bourret. A Bristol resident since 1923, he worked for Veeder-Root for 41 years before retiring 1978. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, son of Norbert N. and Ida (Boccucci) Deslauriers, he lived in the greater Hartford area all of his life. Joseph was formerly employed by the State of CT, Dept. of Consumer Protection for over 25 years.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of and was a member of of Sorrows Vietnam, Church, Hartford. Besides his parents, he leaves his two brothers, Norbert J. Deslauriers, of South Windsor, Matthew M. Deslauriers, of Hartford; his two nephews, Norbert J.

Deslauriers, Jr. and his wife, Amy, Dominic E. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Patricio and Rosa Diaz. grew up Hartford and indie moved to Ohio to work as a system programmer for Bank One and IBM. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Rosa Torres and her husband, Carmelo Torres; a niece, Katrina Torres and a nephew, Jesse Torres, both who had a special place in his heart. Born in Hartford, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 50 years. Prior to her retirement she worked at Mfg. Company, Glastonbury.

She was also the co-founder and operator of Gallo's Appliance, New Haven and the former Charter Oak Restaurant, Manchester. Margaret B. "Peggy" Loomis, 85, of Colchester, passed away on Tuesday, (February 24, 2004) at Middlesex Hospital after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. A longtime resident of Colchester, she was born on May 9, 1918, in Lyons, France, daughter of the late Warren E. Bristol and Lois (Neff) Bristol. A graduate of Hartford High School, she was a long time employee of the former Conn.

Bank and Trust. Following her retirement, she remained very active in many civic and volunteer groups. She was a member of the Westchester Congregational Church, serving as treasurer of the church for years. She was a member of Westchester Church Women's Club, founding member of the Ponemah Club, a member of A-B-C Quilts and treasurer of Westchester Cemetery. She was elected treasurer of the Town of Colchester and appointed to the Colchester Commission on Aging.

She will long be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, good neighbor, caring friend, an active and generous member of the community. She is survived by her four children, Ralph C. Loomis and wife, Mary Lynn of Stamford, Patrick R. Loomis of Colchester, Richard E. A lifelong Hartford resident she was also a member of St. Augustine Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at G. Fox Company for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Tashman of Calabasas, CA; a brother, Henry Kardys of Glastonbury; two sisters, Stella Nugent of East Hartford, Helen Loria of Pittsburgh, PA; and a grandson, Jon Tashman.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Cynthia Goldstein; his devoted children, Susan Ginsberg and Jerry Goldstein; and beloved grandchildren, Michelle Goldstein, Stacy Goldstein, Lauren Ginsberg and Jonathan Ginsberg. Granata, Sr. and Elaine (Kiska) Granata, formerly of Norwalk, died of renal cell carcinoma, Tuesday, (February 24, 2004) at his brother's home. He was born July 11, 1968 in Norwalk and had lived in East Granby prior to moving to Windsor Locks three and a half years ago. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Norwalk, class of 1986, and attended Western New England College in Springfield, MA, where he earned his BSBA in 1990 and his MBA in 1998. Mr.

Granata was a Certified NetWare Engineer in the computer industry. Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Kiska of Norwalk; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard N. Granata, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Windsor; a sister, Jennifer Granata of Albuquerque, two nephews, Nicholas and Jonathan Granata of Windsor; and his fiancee, Chris Schicker and her two children, Jamie and Brian Giesing of Southwick, MA. There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 28, 12 p.m., at Church of the Assumption, 198 Riverside Avenue, Westport, with a reception immediately following. Migli, 86, of Old Farms Road, Avon, died Tuesday, (February 24, 2004) at McLean Home in Simsbury. She was born June 7, 1917 in Avon, daughter of the late Giacomo and Celesta (Colorini) Migli and had lived in Avon all her life.

She was employed as an assembler at New Departure, a division of General Motors, in Bristol for 33 years prior to her retirement in 1974 and was a member of the Church of Saint Ann in Avon. She is survived by her sister, Rita Migli of Avon; a brother, Egidio Migli of Vero Beach, FL; and four nieces and a nephew, Patricia Malone of Windsor, Amy Matsikas of Avon, and Nancy Migli, Donna Brandt, and Peter Migli all of Florida. She was predeceased by a sister, Stella Migli, two brothers, Arthur Migli of Avon and Louis Migli of Waterbury and two nephews; Richard Migli and Stephen Migli. Arlene was born in Tarrytown, NY and grew up New Bedford, MA. She moved to Suffield in 1952 with her family. She has lived in Windsor Locks for over 40 years and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Arlene was active in the Windsor Locks Senior Choraleers and volunteered her time in the grammar school libraries.

She retired from the Hamilton Sundstrand Credit Union in 1997. She will always be remembered for the love she created in her needlework projects. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Judee Dixon of Windsor Locks; and three sons and their spouses, Robert and Cho Ok Dixon, Mark and June Dixon and Todd Dixon all of Windsor Locks; four grandchildren, Daryle and Kyle Beauchesne and Jessica Lynn and Rebecca Lynn Dixon; two brothers, Lawrence Belliveau and Gerald Belliveau both of Suffield; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Melvin Parrette of Vernon; and her nephews and friends. Dana Sanger Hanson of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Anya M. Hanson, entered into eternal life on Monday, (February 23, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1924, in Wellesley Hills, MA, the son of the late Winland and Grace Hendersen Hanson. Dana was a 1941 graduate Wellesley High School in Wellesley, MA, served as president of the Student Council and began his long and distinguished career in community and civic service. Mr.

Hanson retired in June, 1994 1994, as Executive Director of the Capitol Region Council of Governments (C.R.C.O.G.) culminating 26 years of dedicated service in that position. Moving to Connecticut from Massachusetts in 1966, Dana settled his family in Bolton and took a position at the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce, where he was heavily involved in creating the Council and became its first Executive Director in 1968. He was early recognized as a leader in the Regional Council movement, and was selected for five years to serve on the Board of the National Association of Regional Councils, headed in Washington, DC. He and six other Directors saw the need for and created the New England Association of Regional Councils and the Capitol Region played host to the first annual conference for the New England Association. Dana was the recipient of many awards and certificates from national, state, regional, and local governments and agencies.

In 1992, he was presented with the National Organization's highest award for leadership by an Executive Director, The Walter A. Schleiber Regional Leadership Award. In honor of his years of leadership and vision, the New England Association of Regional Councils created the Dana S. Hanson award which is presented each year to an outstanding Executive Director in New England. Dana was a wellrespected member of many other boards and agencies, such as the Regional Planning Agency, CT, Council of Environmental Protection Agency, CT Resource Recovery Authority, Riverfront Recapture, and the Capitol Region Forum for the Future (founder).

Prior to coming to Connecticut, he served on various political, school, and recreational boards and committees, including Scout Master for ten years. From 1960- 1962, he served as Manager of the Civic Affairs Dept. for the Boston Chamber of Commerce, and from 1962 until 1966, served as Director for the Cambridge Civic Association. Dana was a World War Veteran serving from 1943- 1945, flying 25 missions as an enlisted bombardier in a B-17 bomber. Dana was always a very athletic person and enjoyed horseback riding, tennis and golf.

He was a member and player with the Rolling Greens Golf Club for many years. Even after retirement, Dana just couldn't keep out of the loop and served on several boards for Community Renewal Team and the North Central Area Agency on Aging. Besides his loving and devoted wife, Anya, he leaves three children; two step-children, and ten grandchildren. They are his sons, Dana Kevin of Hiram, ME, Peter Sanger of Taos, NM; his most loving daughter, Lori Jane and her husband Raymond Boyd of Bolton; his step-daughter, Alexis-Andrea and her husband Craig Sutherland of Tampa, FL; his stepson, Kurt Rohmer of New Haven; and his grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Austin, and Garrett Hanson, Sierra Corriveau, Corrine, Raymond, Daryn Marie, Jesse Boyd, and Zoriana Sutherland. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Myron and Dotty Hanson of Yarmouth Port, MA; a sister, Lillian Winternitz of Vernon; his mother-in-law, Nadia Myketey of Rocky Hill; a sister-in-law, Slava Bailey of Glastonbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Dana was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Hanson and a brother, John Hanson of Lenox, MA. To those of us who knew and loved him, Dana was nothing less than a very generous and loving man, who believed in the betterment of the' community. He will be greatly missed by many. Friends are invited to the Guliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Rocky Hill, Saturday, from 11 a.m. 12 Noon.

There will be a memorial service at 12 Noon in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles H. Ericson officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Bolton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to a charity of choice.
