THE HARTFORD COURANT WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2003 B5 LOCAL OBITUARIES Loretta DeChesser Services Scheduled Services for Loretta T. Didonato DeChesser will be today at 8 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Plainville, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Ann Church, New Britain.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Mary Garbellini, 78; Of Farmington Mary Muratori Garbellini of Farmington died Saturday at Haven Health Center, Farmington. She was 78. She was born in New Britain and was a longtime New Britain resident.

She moved to Farmington in 1991. She was employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She is survived by two sons, Ken Garbellini and John Garbellini, both of Farmington; two brothers, Albert Muratori and Dino Muratori, both of New Britain; and sister, Lydia Poeta New Britain. Her husband, Andrew Garbellini, died previously.

Services were Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain, followed by a Mass at St. Ann's Church. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. A.

Shevchuk, 92; Of New Britain Alexander Joseph "Al" Shevchuk of New Britain died Tuesday at Ridgeview Health Center in Cromwell. He was 92. He was born in Manchester and lived in New Britain since 1916. He was employed at Standard Brands in Hartford for 35 years, retiring in 1970. He is survived by six nieces and nephews.

His wife, Mathilda "Tillie" Miller Shevchuk, died previously. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Catherine LeBeau, 75; Of Plainville Catherine Grabowski LeBeau of Plainville died Monday. She She was born in Newington. She is survived by her husband, Donald LeBeau; a brother, Jay Grabowski of New Britain, four sisters, Mary Wojtusik and Helen Blake, both of New Britain, Marguerite Fortier of Bristol, and Betty Valk of Southington.

Services will be Friday at9 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Plainville, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450. Richard Alexander, 93; Of New Britain Richard Alexander of New Britain died Tuesday.

He was 93. He was born in Urmia, Persia, and was employed by Goodison Painting Contractors of Glastonbury for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Barbara Ponx-O'Dell of Plainville. His wife, Jean Stawiarska Alexander, died previously. Services will be held at St.

Thomas Church of the East, Assyrian, at a time to be announced. Burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. Porter's Funeral Service; Kensington, is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.

Box 1004, 538 Preston Meriden, CT 06450-1004. Elva Froehlich, 89; Bristol, Harwinton Elva Winn Froehlich of Farmington, formerly of Bristol and Harwinton, died Tuesday. She was 89. She was born in Medford, and resided in Bristol for 28 years before moving to Harwinton, where she lived for more than 30 years. She lived in Farmington for the past four years.

She is survived by a son, Robert Froehlich of Bristol; two daughters, Judith F. Amato of Cromwell, and Linda F. Arle of Concord, four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Her husband, Walter E. Froehlich, died previously.

A service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lena F. Barnes Memorial Chapel at the First Congregational Church, Bristol. Burial will be private in West Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.

Funk Funeral Home, Bristol, is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made to the First Congregational Church Book of Remembrance Fund, 31 Maple Bristol, CT 06010.
