Joseph Plans "Spring Daze" By BETTY BARRETT SOCIETY EDITOR Early response to the announcement of plans for The Hartford Art School's annual House and Garden Tour, May 14-15, indicates one of the largest turnouts in the 24-year history of the Tour. Mrs. Gerrard S. Lee, chairman of the Hartford Art School Auxiliary's Tour committee, reports that because of the great interest in the Tour in many cities and towns outside of Hartford, ticket distribution points have been set up to facilitate requests for tickets from non-residents of Hartford. In Hartford tickets for the event, from which all proceeds will go into the Hartford Art School Scholarship Fund to aid deserving students, may be secured at the following places: Hartford Art School, Lucy Baltzell Shop, Marjorie's Shop, Philip Stevens Wiley Galleries and Witkower's; West Hartford Center: Bollerer's, Burnham's Market, Chez Helene, Colonial Hardware and Doran's; West Hartford Bishop's Corner: Darna's Restaurant, Doubleday Book Shop, Peck and Peck and S.

The students at St. Joseph College are in the throes of planning for the "Spring Daze," their spring weekend. Marianne J. Petrus is chairman for the affair which will open Friday evening with an informal mixer at Mercy Hall at 7 o'clock after which there will be a semi-formal "Moonlight Serenade" 'in the gym. Ann L.

Vera is chairman of the event for which Richard Linson's orchestra will play, Stratton Brook Park in Simsbury will be the scene Saturday afternoon of a picnic of which Barbara Masone is chairman. Saturday evening there will be an informal dance and jazz concert in the gym with Rosemarie Gagliardi in charge of arrangements. MARIANNE PETRUS MARIANNE PETRUS The Hartford Hospital House Staff is initiating an annual spring benefit dance at Wampanoag Country Club, Wednesday, May 8. The dance committee includes Dr. and Mrs.

Donald Brown, Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Kaufman, Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Sumner, Dr.

and Mrs. David Babbott, Dr. and Mrs. John Ballou, Rita Stout and Dr. James F.

Johnson. Many parties have been scheduled to precede the Violet Ball, sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary of the Hartford Symphony Society, which will take place Saturday evening at the Hartford Club with Paul Landerman's orchestra playing for the dancing. The Gerald Greenes will entertain at cocktails and dinner for their table guests, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert C.

Dahill will be hosts at a cocktail party and dinner. Among others who will give a cocktail party and dinner are the Wilson Jainsens and Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Black 3rd.

Cocktail parties have been planned by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Burr and Mr. and Mrs.

Joshua Chandler. Roberta Hinman Wed Christ Church Cathedral was the scene 011 Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock for the marriage of Miss Roberta Oramay Hinman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Goodell Hinman of Campfield and Mr. William George Bryce, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Claud Jesse Bryce of Bristol. Canon Clinton R. Jones performed the ceremony before a setting of Easter lilies. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white silk taffeta gown styled with a boat neckline edged with fagoting, long tapered sleeves and a fitted bodice.

Thomas Heaton of New York City. The bride wore her grandmother's and mother's wedding dress of deep ivory faille, made with a tucked bodice, a square neckline, trimmed with old family lace and a bouffant skirt extending into a court train, Her long veil of French silk illusion was trimmed with her grandmother's rosepoint lace, and she carried white iris. The attendants were gowned alike in pale green silk organza with wreaths of dark ivy in their hair. They carried yellow runnunculus, lavender stock and purple iris. The flower girl wore a full length frock of white Swiss embroidered organdy with pale green velvet sash and headband.

She carried an oldfashioned bouquet. A reception followed at the Hartford Golf after which the couple left for Sea Island, Kelly-Mooney St. Justin's Church was the scene on Saturday at 11 o'clock for the marriage of Miss Barbara, Joan Mooney, daughter and Mrs. Edward G. Mooney of No.

Main West Hartford, and Mr. John Philip Kelly son of Mrs. John Philip Kelly of Brighton, Mass. Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace, and tulle. Fashioned with bodice lace and a sabrina neckline, the gown had a bouffant skirt of tulle paneled in lace and a butterfly bustle terminating in a long train.

She carried white orchids and lilies of the valley. Miss Patricia Mooney was her sister's maid of honor. and bridesmaids included Miss Marcia King of Bryn Mawr, Mrs. Donald Laventhall of Cambridge, Miss. Ann Withe of Collinsville and Miss Emily Alexander of New York City.

Their cornflower blue silk gowns were topped in lace, designed in Empire style, with afternoonlength skirts. Their picture hats were matching, and the honor attendant carried Briarcliff roses. Spring bouquets completed the bridesmaids' costumes. Mr. Robert W.

Kelly was his brother's best man, and ushering were Mr. Robert M. Drennan of Medford, Mr. Melville C. Hill, of Marion, Ohio, Mr.

William DiPesa of Milton, Mass. Mr. James McDaniel of Longmeadow and Mr. Robert K. Mooney of Orchard West Hartford.

After a reception at the Wampanoag Country Club, the couple left for the West Indies, the bride wearing for travel a beige suit, straw hat, luggage-colored accessories. Packer Ernest Sibun, Alfred son Si- of bun of Richmond, Surrey, England. The Rev. Douglas Pimm officiated at the 3 o'clock ceremony. Mr. Horace Sellers of Hebron played the nuptial music.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of pure silk Dupioni and hand-embroidered Chantilly lace. Her dress was fashioned with long tapered sleeves, floor-length skirt. and a sabrina neckline appliqued with pearl studded lace. A cap of matching lace and tulle embroidered with sequins and seed pearls held her illusion veil, and she carried a bouquet of pale yellow roses. Mrs.

John Morris Trimmer of Yardley, attended her sister as matron of honor. With her ballerina-length gown of blue lace over taffeta, she wore a wreath of blue flowers, and carried a bouquet of blue iris and yellow roses. Ruth Elizabeth Trimmer of Yardley, niece of the bride, and Margaret Ann Judd of New Britain, cousin of the bride. were flower girls. They wore short nylon dresses of yellow and lavender, respectively, matching wreaths, and carried yellow and purple pansies.

Mr. John Morris Trimmer served as best man, and guests were ushered by Mr. William H. Judd Jr. of New Britain, and Mr.

The bride. whose father gave her in marriage, was gowned in white peau d'ange lace and blush nylon tulle, the lace framing the portrait and tiny sleeves and extending into the bouffant, ballerina length skirt forming gores. The bride's gown of chiffon taffeta was designed along semiprincess lines with a scoop neckline, outlined with sequintrimmed appliques, long tapered sleeves. and a bouffant floor-length skirt. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was caught from a pearl-trimmed half-hat of illusion, and she carried a semi-cascade bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. The attendants were gowned alike in seafoam green crystalette, the Empire bodices in pe a co green, above ballerina-length skirts.

Their headbands were of Swedish murtin and light pink feathered carnations, the honor attendant's accented with dark pink. and Mrs. Jack Wolfman of New York City. The Rev. John C. Wiley, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, performed the ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk and Alencon lace and a veil of tulle caught from a scalloped crown of matching lace. She carried a bouquet of white geraniums. Miss Linda Lyman Scarsdale, N. was maid of honor, and Miss Honore Wilinski and Miss Susan McGuire of New London, attended as bridesmaids. The maid of honor, carrying a bouquet of violets, wore a waltz-length gown of lavender chiffon with a matching headband.

Richard E. Dunne and the late Dr. Dunne of Stoner Dr. West Hartford. Miss Clarke was graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart, New York, and Bennett Jr.

College, Millbrook, N. Y. She was presented to society at the Gotham Ball in 1951. The father of the bride-elect is a member of the American Stock Exchange. Mr.

Dunne, an alumnus of the Portsmouth Priory School, is a graduate of Princeton University where he was a member The Tiger Inn. A veteran of the U. S. Army in Germany, he is associated with the advertising firm of G. M.

Basford in New York. Griffin-Quinn Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Marguerite Norton Griffin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Griffin of Waterbury and Milford, to Mr.

Gen. James M. Quinn James Knox, Quinn, son of Brig. of Hamden. Miss Griffin is a graduate of the College of St.

Elizabeth, Convent Station, and Yale University School of Nursing, New Haven. She is on the faculty of the School of Nursing of the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. Mr. Quinn was graduated from the University of Connecticut.

Lynn W. Hinman, brother of the bride, and Mr. Edgar G. Buck of Bristol. Following a reception in Christ Church Cathedral House, the couple left on a wedding trip to Washington, D.C.
