you THE HARTFORD DAILY COURANT: SUNDAY, AUGUST 18, 1929. Rudolph Swanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swanson of New Britain, took place July 22 in the rectory of St. Paul's Church.

Rev. J. C. Brennan pertormod the ceremony. The bride wore a of egg shell chiffon with hat to match and carried a bouquet of sweet peas.

She was attended by Miss Mary B. Ross, a n'ece, The maid of honor wore a gown of coral chiffon with hat to match and carried as bouquet of sweet Herbert Swanson was his brother's best man. Mr. and Mrs. Swanson left for an unannounced wedding trip.

They will make their home in East Orange, N. J. Miss Terrace Webster George, Mabel Collins of Grandview and Miss Ruth Nordstrom of Street are on a trip to Lake 1 N. Y. Mr.

and Mrs. Harold E. Gillespie of Crescent Street, West Hartford, are passing some time at Saybrook Heights. Mr. and Mrs.

William H. Weltner, and daughter Betty Jane ner of Blue Hills Avenue have motored to Atlantic City N. for a few days. Mrs. George L.

Heath of New Britain Avenue has recently returned from East River, Madison, where she has been the guest of sister, Mrs. Harold C. Russell of New Britain Avenue, for ten days. Mrs. Lawrence L.

Case of Hillside Avenue is spending a few days with her Clifford S. sister Allendale Road, who is at Meigs Point, Hamonasset Beach, for month. Mr. Clifford S. Case will join his fam'ly August 15.

Mrs. Alice M. Scharf of Rockville announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Irene Evelyn Scharf to Mr. Nicholas Isch, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Nicholas Isch also of Rockville. Mr. and Mrs. James A. Gillen and family of Linnmoore Street are spending the season at Saybrook Manor.

They had as their guests last week-end, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cronin, Miss Ann Gillin and Miss Peg Gillen all of New Haven. Mrs. T.

S. Rourke of Unionville, is a guest at the Wayside Inn, Narragansett, Pier, R. I. Mrs. C.

E. Risley of Hockanum, 1s spending some time at Weekapaug, R. I. where she is a guest at the Weekapaug Inn. Mrs.

Susie E. Bane and family of Otis Street are spending two weeks at White Sands Beach. Miss Jewel Bane will spend vacation with her mother. Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Dorothy Topping Wood, daughter of Mrs. James S.

Wood of New York, to Mr. Hans Axel Walleen. of Brooklyn, N. son of Mrs. Hilma Walleen en of Seymour Street.

The wedding will take place in October. Miss Catherine Crowley of Benton Street has returned from Point o'- Woods South Lyme, where she spent two weeks. Mr. Magnus Nelson and his daughter Miss Esther A. Nelson of Blue Hills Avenue have been the recent guests at "Oak Birch Inn," Lake Winnepesaukee.

Rev. Stanley Kilbourne, pastor of the church, performed the ceremony. The church was decorated with blue hydrangeas and gladiolus. The bride was attended by Mrs. Winslow Bell of New York and Mrs.

Joseph Hegeman of Mamoroneck, N. as bridsmaids. Mr. Joseph Darwin Nagel, brother of the bride, was best man, and the ushers included Mr. John Humphrey Pratt, of Rye, N.

Mr. Winslow Bell and Mr. Frank A. Connor of New York. The bride wore a gown of white georgette with a veil and carried a shower bouquet of white roses.

The matrons of honor wore blonde georgette gowns with picture hats to match and carried Ho bouquets of pink and blue garden flowers. Following the ceremony a reception and dinner was given at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson will sail soon for Yokahoma, Japan, where Mr.

Thomson is foreign manager the American Silk Products Corporation. The bride was graduated from Mary Baldwin School. During the World War, Mr. Thomson was a major in the U. S.

Army. The marriage of Miss Dorothy Woodruff Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Smith of Waterbury and Mr.
